Jörg
is one of our biggest supporters, partially subsidising as he does our basicindia website. He even helped us to find the name (again, something of an accident but we will go into that later). Jörg is a software engineer who a couple of years ago, moved base from Germany to Switzerland where he now lives in a commune, well let’s call it a friends circle, or an experiment in living together, whose members are looking for deeper and more meaningful interaction with each other.
Jörg is passionately interested in music and also in Bharat Natyam which he frequently performs for close friends, wearing a tea cosy on his head. This has earned him the name “POTT” – or Pope of the Teapot – since he closely resembles a dancing pontiff when in action.
All in all, a jolly good sort. Jörg (or POTT as we prefer to call him) has visited India often. He seems to like it here, though the chillies in the food make him sweat.

Ayse (pronounced Ayesha)
was born in Turkey and immigrated to Germany with her parents at the age of ten. Ayse, efficient housewife and equally efficient executive assistant in a successful business concern, has trained in community building rituals with psychiatrist Samuel Widmer. She runs groups for people interested in self awareness, in Turkey. Ayse is a fan of India and has been, since her first visit to the country in 1995. She is keen to work with her friends in India, both in terms of assisting at workshops and providing support through email. Ayse lives at the moment, partly in Cologne, with her husband Heinz and two children and partly in Switzerland where she is part of the same experimental community as Jörg.

is a physiotherapist by profession though she confesses that it is quite some time since she worked in the field. She has recently completed her training in psychotherapy with Samuel Widmer in Switzerland and works off and on with a group in Berlin, which is where she lives with her husband Michael.
Marlis like most of our other friends has visited India several times. She hates Indian food by her own admission, but likes the country itself, very much, which is presumably why she keeps returning. Marlis, because of her sense of beauty is often delegated the task of doing up the group room during workshops and a mighty fine job she does too, with the scarves and candles and flowers she uses to decorate the space!
